"I actually embarked in a journey to the Philippines for the first time, driven by a vision to reimagine public transport sector in the Philippines ... Technology and collaboration could transform not only the industry but your communities and lives of all Filipino people," Panta Transportation Chief Executive Officer David Kahale said.

Kahale said the consultation is for the transport cooperatives to raise their concerns and issues in the sector and for them to further improve the collaboration they aim to forge with the transport alliance that will be formed. "Your voices do matter. Together, we do have the power to revolutionize your industry and impact countless lives from your regions. So, we're taking the first step today for a brighter future of public transportation," he added. Representatives of the transport coops were briefed on the plan of the company for the creation of the Unified National Transport Alliance (UNTA) that will become their partner in advancing the modernization of public transport in the country. Kahale is optimistic that the collaboration of Panta and the UNTA will ensure long-term sustainability and financial health of the road transport sector in the Philippines.

They will be visiting various regions and provinces in the country to inform and collaborate with the transport stakeholders in revolutionizing the industry. They plan to pilot the systems in the different parts of the country in August 2023 once the memorandum of agreement will materialize next month. (JDP/DEG-PIA CAR)
